Job Description

As a member of the Intelligence, Information and Services (IIS) Human Resources team, the Employee Relations Specialist position is a critical enabler in the execution and application of Raytheon’s Human Resources processes, policies and practices and serves in a consultative capacity to HR and Management, building credibility throughout the organization. In conjunction with a small team, this Employee Relations Specialist will support the Employee Relations and HR Compliance efforts and projects. Key responsibilities are listed below.

This position can be located at any major IIS location.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate in the implementation and administration of human resources policies and procedures to ensure compliance with employment law.
  • Investigate and help to resolve Employee Relations issues and complaints (including ADR matters), prepare all required documentation, and provide recommendations to employees and leaders with guidance.
  • Influence/coach leaders to take performance management actions to benefit the company/employees.
  • Ensure that all employee matters are handled consistently and fairly across the organization, and maintain confidentiality and sensitivity.
  • Possess and maintain familiarity with federal and state employment laws and regulations.
  • Provide counsel and guidance to HR, managers and associates regarding company policies, procedures, and interpretations of federal and state employment laws and regulations
  • Respond to and resolve all types of discrimination, harassment and retaliation charges.
  • Identify interventions to improve employee relations in a way that aligns HR and business strategies.
  • Assist in the identification, implementation, and tracking of metrics across Employee Relations to note trends, and develop suggestions to improve Employee Relations.
  • Partner with legal counsel on external agency charges, lawsuit discovery, and litigation preparation.
  • Participate in and promote a team environment by working with own organization and other organizations in the accomplishment of team responsibilities and objectives
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Industrial Psychology or related field.
  • Six years of demonstrated experience in Human Resources, specifically in conducting investigations and resolving employee relations concerns and issues.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), HRIS, and applicant tracking systems.
  • Proven success handling multiple projects, creating/presenting presentations to small/medium groups, and prioritizing a workload in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with changing deadlines.
  • Knowledge of labor and employment law principles.
  • Willingness to travel to offsite facilities
  • US citizenship is required, as this position requires the ability to access systems that contain information restricted to US Citizens based on certain Federal Government contractual requirements

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Industrial Psychology or related field.
  • Proven excellent investigative and analytical skills
  • Proven success working with leaders across all levels in the organization.
  • Strong coaching, counseling, and conflict resolution skills
