Job Description

Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems is looking for an Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead for the THAAD (Terminal High Altitude Area Defense) Integrated Product Team within the Whole Life Engineering Directorate (WLED).

The Whole Life Engineering Directorate is made up of multiple disciplines across a global footprint. WLED influences system architectures as well as hardware and software designs early in their life cycle to assure effective, reliable, safe maintainable, and economical ownership by the customer and end user.

Supporting this mission are teams providing domain expertise and creative solutions in life cycle cost modeling, reliability, safety, human system integration, component selection and obsolescence mitigation, maintenance planning, logistics product data development, technical manual and field bulletin development, operator and maintainer training development and conduct, spares analysis, return and repair management, organizational, intermediate, and depot level maintenance including Major Equipment Item modernization, operational manpower and personnel staffing, and support equipment identification and delivery.

The THAAD (Terminal High Altitude Area Defense) Integrated Product Team resides within the Contractor Logistics Support program. The THAAD IPT Lead is responsible for leading a cross functional and cross business team as well as subcontractors and suppliers to achieve technical, cost, and schedule requirements as well as customer satisfaction for the CONUS based THAAD Radars which are presently located at various DoD facilities.

Specific responsibilities include

  • Driving flawless technical, schedule, and cost performance of contracts Integrating key business activities into a seamless business that can leverage best practices, people skills and cross utilization of assets
  • Managing future proposals, developing proposal timelines and program Integrated Master Plan/Integrated Master Schedule. Developing and partnering customer proposals, white papers, statements of work and Basis of Estimates Achieving Engineering, Missile Defense Program area and CLS program goals aimed at improving the approval process from RPF to contract award
  • Providing proactive program level leadership, collaboration and Integration across the entire program CPTs, IPTs and domestic THAAD Radar Teams
  • Identifying CCLS THAAD radar risk and opportunity items, especially those impacting Operational Readiness and mitigation steps/solutions
  • Interfacing with the Missile Defense Agency customer to optimize products and solutions in support of achieving maximum Operational Readiness and compliance to contractual requirements as well as establishing open communications and trust
  • Establishing and/or growing business relationships, responding to customer needs in a timely manner, identifying customer needs and value propositions, addressing complex technical requirements, and leading a globally diverse team to achieve business objectives
  • Domestic travel will be required and international travel may be required



This position requires an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment. Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.



This position is located in El Paso, TX



Required Skills:

  • 10+ years relevant industry, military or Army sustainment experience
  • Sustainment experience with radar and/or sensor systems
  • Experience leading cross functional teams
  • Experience using program or project management tools such as Earned Value Management System (EVMS) or Risk and Opportunity Management
  • Current active US DoD Secret Security Clearance
  • US Citizenship is required


Desired Skills:

  • Experience with DOD sustainment programs
  • Experience in using Integrated Master Plan (IMP) / Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), Solid understanding of application and execution of Raytheon’s Integrated Product Development System (IPDS) or similar business processes
  • Demonstrated consistency, accountability and flexibility managing multiple and competing priorities
  • Demonstrated track record of developing customer relationships to meet contractual requirements and capture the full potential of follow-on business
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic development and / or contract capture in the Defense Industry
  • PMX Level 4 Certification or equivalent, or the ability to obtain PMX Level 4 Certification within one year of being in role
  • Established relationship with Missile Defense Agency customer
  • Prior experience with Department of Defense Radar Sustainment Programs
  • Demonstrated experience with proposals development/management
  • Demonstrated broad-based technical background and troubleshooting




Required Education:
Bachelor’s Degree or 8 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree.
