Job Description:
The Whole Life Systems Engineering (WLSE) Directorate is responsible for ensuring our products are Safe, Reliable, Maintainable, under configuration control and delivered on time. WLSE consists of multiple disciplines that support engineering, our program offices and our customers. WLSE disciplines participate in the total life cycle of our products from conception to deactivation. WLSE’s charter is focused in two main areas; product support and technical data support. In the product support area, the Departments include Reliability Engineering, System Safety, Mission Support and Lifecycle Engineering. On the technical data side, the Departments are Hardware Configuration Management and Integrated Design Check (CM/IDC), Software Configuration Management (SWCM), and Data Management, Engineering Support and Execution (DEX).

The WLSE Configuration Management department at Raytheon Missile Systems (RMS) is seeking an individual to fill a Configuration Analyst II position in Tucson, Arizona. The Configuration Management department provides support to correctly process and release engineering changes in order to meet contractual requirements and is the foundation that is necessary to ensure that all RMS products are stable and reliable for the warfighter. The Configuration Analyst will work with the program Integrated Product Teams, Office of the Chief Engineer, and other functional stakeholders in the processing, review, and approval of engineering technical documentation. As part of this activity, the Configuration Analyst will work closely with Configuration Management supervision to utilize a systems thinking approach to perform analysis on the documentation to provide consistency, traceability, and accurate accounting of the product during its lifecycle. The Configuration Analyst is responsible for managing the engineering change control process to ensure Raytheon and configuration management policies and standards are met.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication, proven teaming and critical thinking abilities, computer skills, excellent attention to detail, and a solid competency in project planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the coordination and administration of assigned configuration management activities relative to identification, control, verification and accounting for systems and equipment in accordance with contractual requirements
  • Maintain an information management system to ensure compliance with operational directives on an assigned program
  • Perform analysis on engineering data items to ensure a robust, producible, and fully supportable product
  • Review proposed engineering data and coordinate changes with engineering, quality, supply chain, and operations
  • Assist in the implementation of customer requirements and management of engineering change activity to ensure compliance with configuration management policies

U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.

Required Education and Skills:
  • Master's degree in Business, Management, Communications, or related field. Must be either currently pursuing degree or degree must have been granted in the last 18 months.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products
  • Experience working on a team
  • Experience analyzing data and/or processing documentation/records
  • This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

  • 3.0 cumulative GPA desired
