Job Description

Raytheon is currently seeking entry level candidates for Satellite Operations and Maintenance (O&M) positions. The selected candidate(s) will join a skilled O&M team working in a 24/7 operations environment. The O&M team is responsible for all aspects of Operations Planning, Command and Control, and Vehicle Engineering, including monitoring day-to-day activities as well as identifying and solving challenging problems as they occur. After completion of comprehensive on-the-job training, the candidate(s) will be part of a certified team of subject matter experts that are integral to our customer's success.

Duties and Responsibilities Include:
  • Build and/or execute a daily operations plan using complex software and hardware systems
  • Technical knowledge of a large repository of formal procedures with the responsibility to accurately select and apply the correct procedure(s) depending on the specific scenario at hand
  • Document discrepancies as they occur & implement workarounds and contingency plans to minimize impacts of system anomalies
  • Cross-train in other O&M positions as assigned and assist with training of other personnel on the contract team
  • Other duties as assigned

Security Clearance and other Requirements:
  • Qualified applicants will be subject to a security investigation and must meet the requirements to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI government security clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • The selected candidate(s) onboarding is contingent upon obtaining a TS/SCI Security Clearance with CI Poly prior to starting employment (sponsored through Raytheon)

Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
  • This position is in support of an integral 24/7 Operations environment. As such availability for non-scheduled call-in is required and the job assignment requires working a combination of day staff and shift schedules, assigned based on the dynamic needs of the team
  • Availability to work overtime is required
  • Must have strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Must be able to apply critical thinking toward problem solving in time-critical situations
  • Must effectively work in a team environment

Desired Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
  • Experience working a rotating shift schedule
  • Experience providing/receiving training to/from a wide range of learning/teaching styles
  • Working in a virtual team environment
  • Proficient use of both Windows and UNIX platforms
  • Experience with Perl, VBA, and/or other scripting languages
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
  • Previous intern experience

Required Education:
  • Bachelor's of Science Degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, other), or other applicable Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) degree obtained by December 2020.
  • A GPA of 3.0+ is highly desired
