Communications Focal Point Lead
Colorado Springs, CO

Raytheon Intelligence, Information, and Services (IIS) is seeking a Communications Focal Point (CFP) Lead to join our team in support of the United States Air Force North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) Cheyenne Mountain Complex Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (NCMC-ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract (NISSC). NISSC provides accurate, timely, unambiguous warning and attack assessment of air, missile, and space threats with daily visibility to National Command Authority leaders including the President of the United States. NCMC-ITW/AA is composed of air, missile, and space warning missions located at Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station (CMAFS), Peterson AFB, Offutt AFB, Vandenberg AFB, and other forward user and sensor sites worldwide.

This CFP Lead will serve on the established 21st Communications Squadron (21CS) Communications Focal Point (CFP) team in support of CMAFS mission centers, active duty military customers, Government civilians and tenants, and NISSC contractors.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Establish operations processes and procedures
  • provide client-side mission support to a variety of users during daily operations, monthly relocations, annual exercises, and unplanned real-world events
  • resolve classified and unclassified system problems
  • answer system, network and application questions via telephone and email
  • evaluat the impacts and results of system troubleshooting
  • create, track, review, update, and conclude actions in Remedy and within the Government’s timelines
  • assign and follow up on the maintenance actions of other work centers
  • coordinate a variety of CMAFS Work Order activities
  • Maintain and improve the already excellent relationship between Government leadership and the NISSC contractor team
  • Serve as a NISSC team Lead and advisor on all matters related to CFP processes and mission systems status
  • Prepare, submit, and brief daily, weekly, and monthly metrics and status reports
  • Serve as a coordination point for CMAFS mission partners and customers

This CFP Lead will work side-by-side with very high level active duty personnel including senior officers, senior enlisted members, and highly experienced Government civilians, all from a wide variety of backgrounds, specialties, and assignments. Additionally, CFP Lead will be exposed to and will gain valuable experience in multiple mission systems, networks, IT applications, and classified communication technologies.

Required Skills:
  • Broad, deep Customer Service orientation and professional demeanor
  • Above average verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding of network architectures, client computing resources, and troubleshooting practices in a Microsoft Windows Operating System environment
  • Understanding of and experience with client peripherals including PCs, blades, KVMs, monitors, card readers, printers, and multi-function devices
  • Ability to prepare, objectively review, and deliver technical presentations
  • Flexibility to work varying hours (days and possibly occasional nights or weekends) when required by operational tempo
  • Must meet DoD 8570 certification eligibility requirements (e.g. Security+ CE or higher)
  • Must possess an active DoD TS/SCI clearance.

Desired skills:
  • Demonstrated experience interfacing with senior Air Force and/or DoD customers, as well as experience serving multiple DoD Agencies, is highly desired
  • Remedy trouble ticket experience and skills is highly desired
  • Experience with Air Force Communications Focal Point (CFP) applications, communications, infrastructure, processes, procedures, instructions, and Task Orders is considered a significant plus

This position is considered Mission Essential. Typical working hours will be Monday through Friday, 8 hours/day, 40 hours/week. However, the operational tempo arising from real world, exercise, periodic crew relocations, and emergency activities may cause occasional work schedule deviations. CFP SMEs, as well as all CMAFS Mission Essential personnel, must be prepared for and be able to report to work and remain on site for extended periods of time. During such periods, Mission Essential employees are unable to maintain contact with anyone outside the work site, including family and friends. All Mission Essential employees must sign a letter of commitment acknowledging and agreeing to this requirement.

Required Education:
  • Must possess 8 years of directly related experience with a BS/BA in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, Information Technology, Communications, or a related field of study, or the combined equivalent of education and technical experience
  • Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification is required for this position. Candidates must be prepared to provide proof of current Security+ CE certification or other DoD-recognized higher level certification at the time of application

U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment 148218
