Job Description:

The Patriot Operations Technical Instructor/Writer is responsible for researching subject-specific data, including engineering data, design specifications, Software Investigation Reports and Missile Command Continuation Group reports. Performs relevant actions to prepare the data for input to lesson plans, and writes the lesson plans for later instruction. During the development phase, the writer works with Raytheon engineers and customer representatives to apply appropriate instructional design principles. As an instructor, the individual is responsible for the conduct of the course, including examinations.

The Operations Technical Instructor/Writer will provide Operational Patriot instruction to U.S. and Foreign customers on the Post Deployment Build Software. During course preparation, he/she will interface with engineers and other technical personnel to perform critical training task analysis, and validation of documentation. This position is located in Huntsville, Alabama. This position may require 50-60% travel including some outside the US.


Required Skills:
  • 3+ years of operational experience on Air Defense Fire Control systems and controlling shelters or elements.
  • Must have completed one of the following US Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) training courses: Army Patriot Enhanced Operator/Maintainer (14E/14A/140E/140K) or Army Command and Control Systems Integrator/Enhanced Early Warning Operator (140A14H).
  • The individual must have knowledge in Air Defense Operations
  • Must have experience using Windows Computer operating systems as well as the Microsoft Office suite of computer applications.
  • Must currently have and maintain a Secret Level Security Clearance.

Desired Skills:
  • 3 years as Patriot TCS/BCP operator or Patriot.
  • 1-2 years experience setting up and troubleshooting IP-based networks.
  • 1-2 years reading and using Patriot TMs.
  • 2-4 years experience using Linux based operating system.
  • 1-2 year systems administration of Linux based operating system.

Required Education (including Major):
· Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Applied Science with 2 years related experience
· May substitute experience for education. (i.e., Associates degree with 4 years of related experience, or High School graduate with 8 years of related experience
