Job Description

Raytheon Intelligence, Information and Services (IIS) has an exciting opportunity for a Systems Engineer in Huntsville, AL at the Systems Simulation, Software and Integration Directorate (S3I) building on Redstone Arsenal. This position will act as a Mission Engineer for the Indicium Communications Engineering and Security (ICES) organization. The successful candidate will support the current and evolving Strategic Systems Engineering Services (SSES) efforts for the Systems Simulation, Software and Integration Directorate (S3I) Customer.

Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Assisting the Event Engineering Lead with the identification, collection, and refinement of support requirements for Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) test events
  • Acting as primary POC during status and planning meetings for BMDS test events
  • Creating and presenting briefing materials during status and planning meetings for BMDS test events
  • Working with network engineering and event engineering teams to ensure requirements are faithfully met
  • Assisting in the maintenance of a comprehensive personnel schedule that shows assignment, travel, and vacation
  • Assisting the Event Engineering Lead in the preparation and maintenance of funding ROMs for each supported BMDS test event
  • Providing BMDS systems engineering expertise in support of the Engineering Manager, Infrastructure Manager, Operations Manager, and Organization Manager
  • Acting as an integrator between multidisciplinary groups of engineers to help fulfill event support requirements
  • Minimum of 4 years of BMDS systems engineering experience
  • Must be US Citizen with current/existing Secret clearance
  • Demonstrated experience in using MS Office suite products
  • Demonstrated experience in the briefing of technical material to a varied audience

Required Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in a STEM field. Sufficient BMDS experience may be considered in lieu of a STEM degree
Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
  • Experience with MDA Ground Test program
  • Experience with MDA Flight Test program
  • Experience with MDA Exercise program
  • Knowledge of MDA hierarchy and leadership structure
  • Availability to work infrequent nights or weekends
  • Availability to travel infrequently for one week or less at a time
