Job Description

Global Business Services (GBS) Corporate Information Technology Security group is looking for an IT Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst (First/Second Shift) to join our Corporate Information Technology Security group. The position will be responsible for the following:

(Rotating Shift Work) Tier I Security event monitoring and device oriented activities in the SOC with guidance of short-term projects such as upgrades, migrations and implementations on the part of the Tier III staff.

Services monitored and delivered include, but are not limited to SIEM, IDS/IPS, Firewall, Web Content Filtering, SureView Data Leak Prevention (DLP), Proxy, and Security Event Correlation and Reporting to appropriate Tier II incident handling staff or relevant sources to determine increased risk to Raytheon.

Location: Richardson TX (Galatyn)

Job Description:

• As a SOC Analyst you will monitor IT defense perimeter and scanning infrastructure and communicate security events and incidents to applicable Tier II personnel and/or management

• Monitor and analyze the output from various security perimeter monitoring devices and recommend security actions per procedures where required

• Perform reviews/audits of mixed UNIX and Microsoft Windows environments, including network devices, databases, web services, and enterprise applications

• Coordinate with SOC Infrastructure Support team to maintain/trouble shoot defense perimeter and monitoring integrity

Required Skills:
  • Minimum 4+ years applicable work experience in network support and conversant with cyber security concepts and techniques and a Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent work experience in cyber arena and schooling/certifications in lieu of degree.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, topology, and security), operating systems (Windows/UNIX), and web technologies (Internet security)
  • Understand system data, including, but not limited to, security event logs, system logs, and firewall logs
  • This is a 24x7 work environment; ability to work weekends, holidays, or alternate non-traditional schedules and shifts
  • This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
This position requires either a U.S. Person or a Non-U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization

Desired Skills:
  • Traditional network monitoring experience (packet/protocol analysis)
  • Hands-on administrative experience with major operating systems
  • Experience conducting Data Leak Prevention operations
  • CISSP, GCIH, GIAC certifications or similar
Required Education:
Bachelor's degree in Cyber, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information and Technology Systems, Math or Science or related discipline or equivalent work experience and schooling/certifications in lieu of degree.
