Raytheon Intelligence, Information and Services (IIS) is seeking a candidate for a multi-disciplined Sr. Systems Integration Technologist II opportunity to engage in application analysis, database analysis, system administration, and storage administration.

Job Description
  • The selected candidate will work within a team environment to support an internal Raytheon and Department of Defense (DoD) collaborative system. The system encompasses a customer focused web portal that is sustained by an existing server environment (software & hardware).
  • Serve as a member of the Server and Applications Team assisting in performing operating system installation, configuration, upgrades and maintenance primarily with Windows Servers, but can possibly include Linux.
  • Monitor availability and capacity of the servers (CPU, Memory, and Storage), databases and applications.
  • Perform system backup and recovery; conduct regular verification / validation.
  • Monitor and maintain security patches and updates.
  • Mitigate vulnerabilities and perform compliance reporting.
  • Create and maintain daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual checklists.
  • Maintain existing SQL Server environment and serve as primary SQL Administrator.
  • Perform backup and recovery; conduct regular verification/validation.
  • Monitor and maintain security patches and updates.
  • Review database design in regards to system and application architecture, and make recommendations regarding enhancements and improvements.
  • Additional application support and collaboration with internal Engineering Team
  • Maintain current industry knowledge of relevant concepts, practices and procedures.
  • Serve as the primary technical resource for SQL related design, performance, security and configuration issues.

Required Skills:
  • 4-6 years of demonstrated experience with Windows Server, SQL Server RDBMS, virtual environments, and various disk storage options.
  • Proficiency in VSphere software - ESXi & vCenter (v6.7)
  • Proficiency in deploying custom applications from the internal development team released to IIS via WebDeploy
  • Proficiency in general Windows administration
  • Working knowledge of Windows Server 2008 and 2012.
  • Working knowledge of NetApp Storage (Data OnTap 8.1).
  • Working knowledge of SQL Server; including performance tuning, optimization, security, and monitoring.
  • Strong problem solving skills and ability to apply these skills to identify and resolve anomalies in system functionality and performance.
  • System and database performance monitoring (availability and capacity management).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must exhibit good time management skills, independent decision making capability; focus on customer service.
  • Ability to work with the other technical members of the team to administer and support the overall database and applications environment.
  • Support software engineering and application team with development, integration, testing, release and support of customer applications.
  • Maintains current industry knowledge of relevant concepts, practices and procedures.
  • Serve as the primary technical resource for SQL related design, performance, security and configuration issues.
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a US DoD Secret Clearance within 1 year of start.
  • Ability to travel (domestic and international); less than 15%.

Desired Skills
  • Familiarity with of Windows Server 2016.
  • Familiarity with corporate IT security policies and adhere to compliance
  • Familiarity with Cisco Networking Hardware and VPN
  • Familiarity with Linux OS
  • Six Sigma and/or Lean certification or training.
  • Demonstrated ability in developing and maintaining vendor relationships.
  • Experience in an enterprise data-center environment.

Required Education (including Major):
Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field of study.
