Job Description

Attention students currently pursuing a degree in engineering. Do you have an interest in Operations, Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma techniques? Raytheon’s Integrated Defense Systems (IDS) is hiring summer interns to work with in our manufacturing operations in Andover and Tewksbury sites. You will have the opportunity to work with the ops team members on a variety of technically challenging and innovative projects. Our teams work on incredible projects, from new product innovations to scaling our massive back-end systems. You’ll work in a fun, contagiously innovative culture and collaborate with talented teams on both small projects and massively scalable systems.

As a summer intern, you will participate in complex and exciting manufacturing projects using Lean Manufacturing techniques. These projects are components of system supporting homeland and missile defense strategies and may involve products currently in production, design as well as transitioning to production.

Basic Qualifications:

·Active participation in an accredited university program which will culminate in a B.S. or M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science

·GPA 3.0 or Higher

·Ability to obtain a US Department of Defense Security Clearance. This position requires an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment.

  • Effective written communications skills
  • An aptitude and passion for tackling complex technological problems
  • The ability to work individually or contribute to a team project

In addition to practical experience in a dynamic environment, interns will have the opportunity to train in 6 sigma and become specialists. This is a full-time summer internship for a minimum of 12 weeks.
