Job Description

We are looking for an accounting intern to support the Corporate General Ledger team. The General Ledger team is responsible for the company-wide financial consolidation process and maintaining the Corporate ledger. This role will also support the Accounting Process group with analysis of financial information, and the identification and implementation of process improvements.

Specific Responsibilities include:
  • Assist with the preparation of the quarterly trial balance review, which involves preparing financial schedules using the company’s reporting tools, identifying and investigating unusual financial activity and preparing a PowerPoint presentation which is reviewed by the Chief Accounting Officer.
  • Learn the company’s Data analytics (e.g. Tableau) and report writing (e.g. SAP Analysis for Office) tools in order to run and filter reports used to support Managers’ financial analysis.
  • Perform review of annual overhead cost submission. Critically review amounts, identify unusual/unreconciled items and pursue resolution with support of supervisor.
  • Support enterprise-wide process improvement initiatives and other special projects.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
  • US Citizenship Required - This position requires access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US Citizenship.
  • Foundational knowledge of accounting, financial statements and data analysis
  • Strong desktop computer skills, in the use of MS Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Perform task with general direction/oversight
DESIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
  • 3.0 GPA and above
  • Relevant internship or co-op experience
  • Experience in a financial setting working with numbers, data sets, or computations
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Candidate must be in/entering their junior or senior year(60+ credit hours) and actively pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field. Please upload a copy of your most recent transcript when applying to this requisition
