The Raytheon Intelligence Information and Services (IIS) Global Intelligence Solutions (GIS) Mission Management and Control (M2C) team is seeking an entry level Systems Integration and Test Engineer for programs to modernize and maintain satellite ground segments.

This position ensures customer success through the design, development and execution of innovative and comprehensive requirements, test, verification and validation strategies, processes, tools and techniques. The candidate will be involved in all aspects of requirements development and test including: design-for-test, integration, subsystem, and component level testing through Customer sell-off. The candidate should be knowledgeable of system requirements, and have the ability to develop and maintain system level requirements in requirements management tools.

If hired, the candidate will be a member of the Raytheon IIS Systems Engineering Team as a Systems Engineer I. As such, the candidate:

  • Contributes to a team of systems engineers in accomplishment of engineering tasks in an iterative development environment.
  • Contributes to the development and clarification of requirements to software, hardware and cyber development teams, and test personnel.
  • Performs system engineering analyses including trade studies, use case development, requirements definition and derivation, interface definition, and requirement validation and verification.
  • Provides document review and resolves technical systems engineering and integration issues.

Responsibilities will include:
  • Supports large-scale systems projects through operations, performance, testing, manufacturing, cost and schedule, training and support, and/or system disposal.
  • Ensures the stability, integrity and efficient operation of systems.
  • Applies communication, analytic and problem-solving skills to identify, communicate and resolve issues.
  • Assist with technical design to system specification
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant hardware and software applications as assigned.
  • Provides support to operations teams
  • Serves as a liaison between operational and engineering staff.
  • Reviews assigned defect reports.
  • Supports the update process for operations manuals, work instructions, tools, and scripts.
  • Supports hardware and software updates to the system.
  • May have opportunity to travel CONUS and abroad.

Required Skills:

  • Must exhibit good time management skills, independent decision making capability; focus on customer service.
  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills and sound problem solving skills.
  • Familiarity with the software development life cycle.
  • Exposure to at least one of the following system engineering areas: requirements development, architecture development, operations concept development, functional analysis, interface definition, and verification & validation.
  • Enthusiastic & energetic performer able to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, & high visibility environment.
  • Self-motivated and capable of performing tasks with minimal oversight.
  • Contribute to the completion of program & project milestones under the specific guidance of his/her immediate supervisor.
  • Must be able to work collaboratively across product teams and physical locations.

Security Clearance- This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Note: Candidates with a current TS/SCI security clearance or higher are eligible for a $20,000 sign on bonus if the clearance is confirmed and the candidate is hired by Raytheon.

Desired Skills:
  • Experience of Risk and Opportunity management.
  • Experience with Network architecture and design.
  • Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with DOORS or similar requirements management tool.
  • Exposure to integration of software and hardware subsystems.
  • Exposure to information security engineering concepts and practices.
  • Existing security clearance.

Required Education (including Major):
Bachelors degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Systems, Computer Science, Physics, Math) obtained within the last 18 months or by Summer of 2019. A GPA of 3.0+ is strongly desired. Please include your GPA and transcript with your resume.
