Job Description

As a defense contractor, there are specific programs requiring a certain level of security clearance and special access for assigned staff. The selected candidate will be required to secure these accesses. Not being able to secure the Interim Secret Security Clearance needed for this position may result in an offer of employment being rescinded.

This position requires a U.S. person or the ability to obtain an Export Authorization from the appropriate government agency for non-U.S. persons.

Job Description:
A successful candidate will be involved in the development of Receiver Exciters, Antennas and Circuit Design and must be experienced in the design, analysis and simulation of RF and Microwave circuits using CAD tools. The candidate must be experienced using lab equipment in order to test RF/Microwave circuits and integrated assemblies.
The candidate must be a self-motivated, self-starter that works well within multi-disciplined teams, has strong communication skills, and drives to be successful.
Design experience in high frequency circuits ranging from baseband to millimeter wave is desired along with experience testing and troubleshooting integrated microwave assemblies.
Candidate should be able to work from requirements to finished product, assuring robust design of circuits and assemblies.


U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.

For Multi-Level Intern Requisitions:
This position can be a Salary Grade of G04, G05 or NUG based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position.

  • G04 (College Junior by Fall 2018) - must have completed 60 hours of college
  • G05 (College Senior by Fall 2018) - must have completed 90 hours of college
  • NUG (Post- Graduate-Masters-PhD by Fall 2018) - must have an undergraduate degree and currently enrolled or about to enroll in a graduate degree program

Required Skills:

  • Must have related or unrelated work experience
  • Must have or plan to take relevant coursework in RF/Microwave circuits
  • Hands on experience in the design, analysis, development, bread?boarding, troubleshooting and testing of RF/Microwave circuits.
  • Experience in software tools including: Keysight ADS, National Instruments AWR Microwave Office, Sonnet em or comparable 2.5D/3D EM software
  • Experience in lab equipment including: Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, and Power Meters.
  • Understanding of S-Parameters and transmission line theory
  • Must be a college Junior, Senior or Graduate student by Fall 2019
  • This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in software CAD tools including AutoCAD, Keysight Genesys, and Ansys HFSS
  • Experience working with MATLAB
  • Experience designing and/or working with amplifiers and knowledge of matching circuits
  • Experience working with mixers and understanding mixer spurs and products
  • Experience designing microstrip/stripline RF filters
  • Understanding of Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs) and Printed Circuit Boards (PCB)
  • Understanding of Stability Analysis
  • Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (Please upload an unofficial transcript when applying)

Required Education (including major): Currently pursuing a BS / BA degree from a four-year university and entering as a college Junior or Senior year OR pursuing a MS / MA / PhD by Fall 2019. Must be working towards a degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent technical discipline. Must be appropriate grade level listed above.
