Raytheon Missile Systems (RMS) Engineering provides engineering design, integration and life cycle support for Missiles, Smart munitions, Projectiles, Kinetic Kill Vehicles, and Directed Energy Weapons with combat system competencies including process and control, integration and test, power systems, multiple system electronics, receivers and exciters, antennas and microwave sub-assemblies.

Job Description:
Raytheon has an opportunity for an entry level engineer to perform research and data analysis for new and existing electrical components for multiple missile systems such as TOMAHAWK. The engineer will determine availability, feasibility and characteristics of components including identification of alternatives. The engineer will also perform component level trade studies, participate in collaboration activities, and work with team members to ensure proper design effectiveness and identify process improvements. Focus areas include component obsolescence, component health management, and new part introductions. In addition, the engineer will interface with stakeholders and suppliers to collect data and information for developing component risk assessments and verification documentation.

U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance.

Required Skills:
ØTechnical knowledge of electronic components such as semiconductors, resistors, capacitors, RF devices, connectors, etc.
ØKnowledge of EEE parts specs and standards
ØResearch, problem solving and identification of alternatives
ØPreparation of reports and presenting findings and recommendations
ØComponent selection with judgment and determination of part feasibility to meet requirements
ØPreparation of parts lists and associated documentation including parts list maintenance
ØPreparation of component level drawings
ØSelf-starter and eagerness to seek subject matter expert inputs and ask questions
ØEffective communication skills and the ability to work with different disciplines and project management personnel
ØAbility to multitask
ØExperience with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat
ØExperience with databases usage

Desired Skills:
ØImpact assessment of product change notices
ØKnowledge of component screening, qualification and derating
ØKnowledge of component failure modes
ØKnowledge of obsolescence management strategies
ØTroubleshooting and diagnosis of electrical circuit anomalies
ØElectronic circuit design with knowledge of analog design and analysis
ØGeneral knowledge of digital circuitry and interfaces
ØKnowledge and/or experience with use of lab common equipment such oscilloscopes, network analyzers, etc.
ØKnowledge of electronics manufacturing processes
ØKnowledge of circuit card and PWB manufacturing processes
ØExperience with design tools such as Mentor Graphics Expedition or Design Architect
ØExperience with circuit simulation and analysis tools such as PSPICE or Analog Workbench

Required Education (including Major):
ØMasters of Science degree in electrical engineering or in an engineering discipline with a concentration in electrical components or technology. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Cumulative GPA of 3.00 is desired.
