Job Description

Raytheon in Pasadena is looking for a Hardware Design Support Engineer to support the mission test equipment development team in the design of hardware test equipment that will be used to verify and validate the flight system design. These systems support both Avionics “box” level testing and in system level test venues.

The hardware development team designs, procures, and tests the test equipment hardware working in conjunction with the test equipment software developers and customers.

The job duties involve:

  • Develop and review implementation approaches.
  • Develop the associated hardware designs following project processes and requirements. Develop, execute and analyze unit tests verifying satisfaction of module requirements, proper implementation of interfaces.
  • Support testing of the hardware systems at box level and hardware in the loop testbeds.
  • Evaluate results and support SSE verification and validation.
  • Participate in peer reviews. Provide post-delivery maintenance and problem investigation of developed modules.
  • Support implementation of hardware change requests.
  • Provide documentation of SSE products
  • Submit and manage procurements of hardware items.
  • Provide inventory control and processing of incoming/outgoing hardware.
  • This position requires the ability to access systems that contain information restricted to US Citizens based on certain Federal Government contractual requirements.
Required Skills:

  • Experience or training with industry standard CAE (computer-aided engineering) tools for electrical engineering as well as EE lab equipment, including power supplies, signal generators, and Oscilloscopes
  • Electrical engineering education with an emphasis on electronic design
Desired Skills:

  • Training or experience with serial interfaces
  • Knowledge or experience working with Commercial Off the Shelf test equipment
  • Knowledge or experience with Automated Test Systems
  • Knowledge or experience with Linux based systems
  • Strong verbal and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with ability to work in team environment
Minimum Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a technical degree obtained with in the past 18 months or by Aug 2018.
