Job Description

These positions are for Software Digital Signal Processing Engineers within the Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems, Electrical Design Directorate, Receiver Exciter and Signal Processing Department. The Receiver, Exciter and Signal Processing Department designs, develops, and integrates a number of different products and technologies relative to radar systems. The Signal Process Technology group within the Receiver, Exciter, and Signal Processing Department focus on state-of-the-art processing technologies and distributed high performance computing architectures that are used to build next-generation Radar Signal Processing applications.

The Software Signal Processing Engineer position is located in Marlboro, Massachusetts, however you may also be able to work in the Tewksbury and/or Woburn areas. Responsibilities include working within Linux, Unix, and Real Time Operating System developing C/C++ implementation of signal processing algorithms and time critical control functions involved in and direct control of sensor systems. This position will also include working closely with Software Architects and Systems, Hardware, and Software engineers to interpret requirements and correctly implement these requirements in software.

This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. (Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO) an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. Security clearance factors include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the US, foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and drug involvement. Employment is contingent on other factors, including, but not limited to, background checks and drug screens.).

–U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.

Do you have this Basic Qualification?
•Candidates must be currently enrolled in a BS or MS degree program (or completed a degree no more than 18 months prior to start date) in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or related engineering or science curriculum. Candidate must also have the ability to obtain a security clearance.

•Customer focus and collaboration skills
•Excellent written and oral communication skills
•Strong analytical skills
•Willingness to travel for company business to non-Raytheon facilities
•Previous internship or co-op with a defense contractor and/or government agency
•Knowledge of MS Office or other presentation tools
•Multithreaded application development experience or coursework that includes testing and debugging in C++/C on Linux or Unix environments
•Working understanding of parallelism and concurrency as applied to algorithm implementation on shared memory and distributed systems
•Experience or coursework implementing complex signal processing algorithms in C++ meeting latency and throughput performance requirements or experience in implementing complex control operations in software with defined performance timelines
•Experience or coursework in developing and optimizing algorithms for performance.
•Experience or coursework in multithreaded, multiprocessor software development using pthreads, OpenMP, or MPI programming models on clustered deployments
•Experience or coursework developing applications for GPGPU and/or Intel Xeon Phi processors
•Familiar with software configuration management and development process control (i.e. CMMI)
•Experience in using version control tools such as ClearCase
•GPA of 3.0 or higher
