Are you ready to add Mission Assurance to your skill set? Are you ready to use your technical analytical skills in the Quality Sciences? We have an intern opening in Mission Assurance at IDS facilities located in Marlborough, MA. You will gain exposure to the skills required to represent the customer’s best interests, assuring product and process quality and effectiveness throughout the product life cycle from planning through post-delivery support.

As a Quality Engineer intern you will acquire an understanding of what is required to be the Mission Assurance interface and drive overall quality performance including continuous improvement and implementation of lean methodologies. You will help to ensure programs meet customer objectives for Mission Assurance, working closely with other functions, to affect rapid closure of issues utilizing analytical capabilities and communication skills. You will work in a results based culture with a strong focus on continuous improvement
.

You will experience problem-solving while working in a team environment. Your work will involve planning, coordination, facilitation, analysis, coordination and influencing to achieve continuous improvement and successful program execution, focusing on Quality. You will learn what it takes to provide Quality Sciences Subject Matter Expertise for work product and process compliance to meet tactical and strategic objectives. You will work at all levels of the organization to drive root cause and corrective action utilizing analytical capabilities and communications skills.


Key responsibilities for the qualified candidate include:
  • Analyze and interpret trends
  • Execute improvements on key metrics
  • Participation in root-cause analysis, Corrective and Preventative Action solutions
  • Team with other quality engineers to form a highly-intellectual, statistical-approach organization
  • Ensure flow down of Raytheon and contract program requirements both internally and to suppliers, ensures compliance with contract program, quality and organizational requirements.

Desired Skills
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Analytical skills in root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive action
  • Experience in continuous improvement processes such as Six Sigma and / or Lean Methodologies
  • Excellence in both oral and written communication
  • High energy, self-starting team player who is results based
  • Ability to build effective relationships through partnering and collaboration
  • Ability to operate in a dynamic and challenging, team-oriented environment

This position requires the ability to access systems that contain information restricted to US Citizens based on certain Federal Government contractual requirements.

Required Education
Candidate must be enrolled in an accredited college or university, pursuing a technical degree in the area of Engineering, Science or Mathematics. A GPA of 3.0+ in a 4.0 grade scale is desired. Please include your transcript with your resume. You must have obtained sophomore, junior, or senior status as of summer 2018.

This position can be for a Sophomore, Junior, or Senior Internship based on the candidate’s qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position.

Sophomore status – must have completed 30 hours of college credits towards degree and obtained Sophomore status as of Summer 2018.

Junior status – must have completed 60 hours of college credits towards degree and obtained Junior status as of Summer 2018.

Senior status – must have completed 90 hours of college credits towards degree and obtained Senior status as of Summer 2018.
