As a defense contractor, there are specific programs requiring a certain level of security clearance and special access for assigned staff. Job Description:
This position is for a Demand / Supply Controller role within the Advanced Product Center North Texas Operations group. This pivotal role will operate in multiple shop floor and Material Requirement Planning (MRP) related systems to ensure alignment between material position and production schedule. Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Evaluating and coordinating program requirements to ensure a controlled flow of materials and services to meet customer requirements,
  • Providing status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed,
  • Working daily to confirm material supply and demands,
  • Preparing work orders or purchase requests for the production or purchase of components or parts based on a master production schedule, shop load, and inventory requirements,
  • Coordinating cross-functional interdepartmental activity as needed (i.e. with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, programs, logistics),
  • Scheduling and expediting the movement of parts by means of move orders, stock transfers and requests for shipping orders.
  • Working with program support staff to resolve material shortages and other issues impacting product build,
  • Taking corrective action on unfavorable trends as necessary, and
  • Reporting on and troubleshooting MRP system generated exceptions

U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.

Required Skills:

  • Experienced and effective communicator (presentation skills, written and verbal communication)
  • Course work or academic projects in manufacturing, industrial engineering or related manufacturing engineering
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, Power Point)
  • Ability to obtain an Export Authorization from the appropriate government agency for non-U.S. persons
  • U.S. Citizenship is required

Desired Skills:

  • Ability to apply critical thinking techniques, using logic and reasoning to identify approaches to problems, and the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions
  • SAP knowledge and experience
  • Experience using Material Requirements Planning (MRP) processes and/or software
  • Motivated and takes on challenges with minimal direction, with the ability to see when something needs to be done and react accordingly
  • Ability to understand complex systems and processes
  • Ability to apply Lean and 6 Sigma concepts to improve departmental, factory related, and cross-departmental processes

Required Education (including major): Must have a BS / BA from an ABET accredited university with a major in Operations, Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, Math, or other related field by Summer 2018 or have graduated within 18 months prior to start date.
