Job Description
The Systems Engineering Integration and Test (SEIT) organization is seeking engineering leaders committed and passionate about creating innovative and cost-effective verification and validation solutions. As a technical member of the Radar Target Generator Special Test Equipment team, candidate will implement systems engineering principles, methods, processes and tools on complex RF systems to verify and validate systems level requirements. This highly dynamic environment requires both speed and efficiency in addition to maintaining product quality, functionality and traceability. Applicants are expected to be self-motivated, detail oriented and demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management and individual contributors on the program team through strong written and verbal communication skills. The Radar Target Generator Systems Engineer will frequently work with a diverse group of software engineers, systems engineers, and RF subject matter experts and must be comfortable either working independently or as part of an integrated development team. Under the oversight of Integrated Product Team (IPT) leadership and functional management, applicants will have the opportunity to lead small groups in development, integration testing and requirements verification.
  • Responsibilities include:
    • Software development activities during the system design, development, integration, test, maintenance and support phases of program execution
    • Developing novel solutions for testing and verification of radar system requirements through the use of software tools, test fixtures and scripts as well as the use of hardware based RF Target Generators
    • Developing and executing system test procedures for verification of tactical and/or strategic radar system requirements
    • Design, develop, test and verify physics and effects based kinematic and RF simulations
    • Deliver and present work artifacts to IPT Lead and Program Office representatives

Required Skills:
  • Working knowledge of software development on Windows or Linux
  • Experience with either C/C++, MATLAB, MathCad or other Analysis software package suite
  • Working knowledge of System Engineering (including Integration, Verification and Validation) work products
  • U.S. Citizenship is required

Desired Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal & communication skills (verbal & written)
  • Able to effectively multi-task and manage competing priorities
  • Ability to work in highly collaborative, team-based environment
  • An active Secret and/or Top Secret clearance and/or a SSBI/Special Access clearance
  • Working familiarity with Radar, RF and RF Environmental concepts and technology
  • Demonstrated experience leading small teams and projects
  • Technical competence in a complex system development and testing environment
  • Working knowledge of software development on a Real-Time Operating System (RTOS) (i.e. VxWorks)
  • Experience implementing communication software (TCP/IP, UDP, RPC, Shared Memory, Mil-Std-1553)
  • Familiarity with system devices (VME, PCI/PMC, Serial, I2C, GPS/IRIG-B, USB)
  • Experience implementing complex mathematical models (i.e. aircraft navigation / 6DoF motion, atmospheric effects, electronic warfare, and radar simulation)
  • Experience with a scripting language (i.e. Python)
  • Knowledge or experience in Object-Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD) and Design Patterns
  • Experience with all phases of software development testing including unit, integration, acceptance and regression testing
  • Experience with IDE, debuggers and performance tools
  • Experience with software development tools
    • Version-control software (subversion, git, mercurial)
    • Issue tracking tools (Jira, Bugzilla, Trac)
    • Continuous integration tools (Jenkins, Hudson, Bamboo)
    • Peer review (Gerrit)

Required Education (including major): Must have a BS / BA from an ABET accredited university with a major in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or other related field by Summer 2018 or have graduated within 18 months prior to start date.

This position requires a U.S. person or the ability to obtain an Export Authorization from the appropriate government agency for non-U.S. persons.

U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.
