Job Description

This position will report into the Mechanical Engineering Solutions and Services department, which is responsible for providing IT Engineering solutions to all mechanical related disciplines within RMS. The Information Systems Technologist I will assist in the execution, architecture, development and deployment of technical solutions pertaining to Mechanical Engineering, CAD software and Data Management, with a strong focus on tool automation and integration. Specific focus will be the tool enhancement, automated tool deployments, optimization, implementation and system administration. Responsibilities include tool support in the areas of demand management, deployment, problem resolution, integration, and customization. This individual will work closely across IT functions, Engineering and Program personnel to develop and prioritize tool upgrades and automation. The selected individual should be a self-starter with capabilities to identify, plan and implement tool automation and support requirements to continuously simplify and improve the supported Engineering tools.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Partner with Engineering to provide delivery and technical support of Mechanical Engineering applications
  • Assist with application deployment, problem resolution, integration, and customization
  • Develop and deploy automation and technical solutions with a focus on the installation and configuration of Mechanical Engineering application software
  • Collaborate with counterparts at other Raytheon businesses to help develop new enterprise solutions, and leverage the value of existing shared solutions
  • Support enterprise and business initiatives that may include tool trade studies, tool and integration evaluation, environment deployment, and support
Minimum Required Skills:
  • Automation/Programming experience using one or more of the following technologies: Batch, AutoIt, Java, JavaScript, C++
  • Passion and tenacity for solving challenging technical problems, and a desire to help others
  • Possess the necessary interpersonal skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization, within a team environment and individually
  • Possess the necessary people skills to work effectively with all levels of management, peers and subordinates.
  • Capable of working with teams of multi-discipline engineers as well as individually.
  • Experience implementing new tools and processes

Desired Skills:
  • Working knowledge of Creo and Windchill/cPDM
  • Mechanical engineering tools administration and technical support experience

Required Education (including Major):
BS with a major in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field from an accredited institution.
A qualified University Programs candidate will have 0-2 yrs of directly related experience and be on track to graduate by spring 2018 or have graduated less than 18 months ago.
