Job Description

Are you interested having a summer internship at dynamic, inclusive, and growing professional organization? Raytheon Intelligence, Information and Services is looking for a summer intern to support multi-disciplined computer engineering solutions and software/system support working the Air Operation Center Weapon System contract at Hampton, VA.

The AOC WS Long Term Maintenance and Sustainment team provides integration of IT-Intensive C4I systems into the Joint Forces Air Component Commander’s weapon system. The successful candidate will have an appropriate level, solid background in computer engineering, web interfaces, cyber, and computer engineering. This position requires technical engineering experience, understanding and application of systems engineering and configuration management principals and process, mission planning/scheduling along with experience in systems engineering and sustainment of existing baseline.
The successful candidate will be effective at face-to-face interaction, support technical meetings, technical interchanges and enterprise working groups.

A sample of tasking includes:

· Assisting with programming in C, C++, and/or Java
· Participating in peer reviews for technical documentation
· Assisting with GUI development
· Supporting Software testing includes conducting test procedures and configuring equipment for test.
· Knowledge of Java, C, C++, XML, or other languages
· Knowledge of test process
· Experience with Office-type software, i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
· Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment
· Possess good analytical, presentation and communication (written and verbal) skills
Desired Experience, Knowledge and/or Skills:
· An understanding of fundamentals of Computer engineering
· Red Hat Linux experience


Required Education

Candidate must be enrolled in an accredited college or university, pursuing a technical degree in the area of Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or related field. A GPA of 3.0+ in a 4.0 grade scale is desired. Please include your transcript with your resume. You must have obtained Sophomore, Junior, or Senior status as of summer 2018.


This position can be for a Sophomore, Junior, or Senior Internship based on the candidate’s qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position.

Sophomore status – must have completed 60 hours of college credits towards degree and obtained Sophomore status as of Summer 2018.

·Junior status – must have completed 90 hours of college credits towards degree and obtained Junior status as of Summer 2018.

·Senior status – must have completed 120 hours of college credits towards degree and obtained Senior status as of Summer 2018.
