Job Description

Reporting to a Raytheon Precision Manufacturing Engineering Manager at the Lemmon Avenue site in Dallas. This position will include:
  • Working safely every day and supporting efforts to maintain an injury free work place Development of detailed manufacturing process plans that are cost effective and meet all quality requirements.
  • Providing cost and time estimates for new product.
  • Coordination of Non-Recurring Engineering efforts for new and old products including NC programming, CMM programming, Tool Design, and Processing/Assembly instructions.
  • Support resolving complex problems arising during the fabrication process. Includes investigation and recommendations for productivity enhancements.
  • Coordination of Non-Recurring Engineering efforts for new and old products including NC programming, CMM programming, Tool Design, and Processing/Assembly instructions.
  • Support resolving complex problems arising during the fabrication process. Includes investigation and recommendations for productivity enhancements.
  • Close interaction with personnel responsible for fixture design, inspection equipment programming, machinists and methods
  • Day to day interaction with Raytheon employees including all levels of Precision Manufacturing management
  • Promoting a spirit of cooperation and following company policies

Required Skills:
  • Must be proficient at reading and understanding written shop processes, engineering blueprints, engineering change notices, work instructions, procedures and routers and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
  • Knowledge of machining processes, cutting tool selection, speeds and feeds, solid model generation, necessary to produce cost effective complex tight toleranced 5-axis machined parts
  • Methodization of product including: cutting tool requirements, fixture design, process flow analysis, operation methods analysis and compilation of labor estimates
  • Demonstrated ability to work within budgets and schedules
  • Demonstrated ability to interface effectively with machinists, support groups, customers, and management
  • Demonstrated problem solving ability in resolving complex problems arising during the fabrication process. Includes investigation and recommendations for productivity enhancements
  • Highly competent and trustworthy. Sincere relationship management skills are a must
Desired Skills:
  • Associates Degree in Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Experience with/knowledge of the following support functions: Methods, Tooling and Quality Assurance
  • Experience with any of the following software systems/tools: SAP/PRISM, Pro-Engineer, GibbsCam, Esprit, Vericut, PC DIMS
  • NC Machine operation experience a plus

Required Education (including Major):
BA or BS degree from an accredited institution
