Job Description:
Raytheon is seeking a summer intern. This individual will be developing, modifying, applying, and maintaining quality standards for processing materials into partially finished or finished material or product. Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment. Designs or specifies inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of, and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications. May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control, and/or research and development as they apply to quality control.

Tests and controls raw material and finished product quality, ensuring compliance with company standards and applicable government regulations. Advises operating units on installation and maintenance of inspection and testing procedures for raw materials, packaging materials, and finished products. Recommends corrective action where necessary, develops plant quality control manuals, and participates in the development of new methods, procedures, and systems.

For Multi-Level Intern Requisitions:
This position can be a Salary Grade of G04 or G05 based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position.

  • G04 (College Junior by Fall 2018) - must have completed 60 hours of college
  • G05 (College Senior by Fall 2018) - must have completed 90 hours of college

Required Skills:

  • Proficient in the use of the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel and Power Point)
  • Experience working in a team environment
  • Leadership experience
  • Must be a college Junior or Senior student by Fall 2018
  • U.S. Citizenship is required

Desired Skills:

  • Experience or familiarity with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 Quality Management Systems
  • Experience or familiarity with the use of analysis tools such as Pareto Analysis, cause/effect diagrams and process mapping
  • Experience or familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) or related statistical techniques
  • Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (Please upload an unofficial transcript when applying)

Required Education (including major): Currently pursuing a BS / BA degree from an accredited four-year university and entering as a college Junior or Senior by fall 2018. Must be working towards a degree in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Math, or equivalent technical discipline. Must be appropriate grade level listed above.
