    Are you interested having a summer internship at dynamic, inclusive, and growing professional organization? Raytheon Intelligence, Information and Service is looking for a summer intern to support engineering solutions and software/system support. Tasking is based at the Raytheon facility located in Mt Laurel, NJ.

The STARS team provides software and engineering support to the FAA working in a collaborative environment, which is characterized by respect for the individual, problem solving in a team setting, consensus oriented solutions, and results based recognition. Supporting this program are teams providing domain expertise and creative solutions in software development and analysis, second level engineering support to the customer and software test and integration.

    • The successful candidate will be engaged in supporting phases of the Software Lifecycle ranging from design, development, implementation, unit testing to software integration. A sample of tasking includes:
    • Assisting with programming in C, C++, and/or Java
    • Participating in peer reviews for technical documentation
    • Assisting with GUI development
    • Developing adaptation support tools using C and J2EE
    • Supporting SW Lab
    • Joining code reviews and conducting unit and acceptance testing
    • Supporting Software testing includes conducting test procedures and configuring equipment for test.
    Required Skills:
    • This position requires the ability to access systems that contain information restricted to US Citizens based on certain Federal Government contractual requirements.
    • Knowledge of Java, J2EE, JavaScript, C, C++, XML, Angular JS or other languages
    • Knowledge of test process
    • Experience with Office-type software, i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
    • Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment
    • Possess good analytical, presentation and communication (written and verbal) skills
    • Ability to travel

    Desired Experience, Knowledge and/or Skills:
    • An understanding of air traffic concepts and procedures
    • Red Hat Linux experience

    Required Education:

    Candidate must be enrolled in an accredited college or university, pursuing a technical degree in the area of Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or related field. A GPA of 3.0+ in a 4.0 grade scale is desired. Please include your transcript with your resume. You must have obtained Sophomore, Junior, or Senior status as of summer 2018.
    This position can be for a Sophomore, Junior, or Senior Internship based on the candidate’s qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position.
    • Sophomore status – must have completed 60 hours of college credits towards degree and obtained Sophomore status as of Summer 2018.
    • Junior status – must have completed 90 hours of college credits towards degree and obtained Junior status as of Summer 2018.
    • Senior status – must have completed 120 hours of college credits towards degree and obtained Senior status as of Summer 2018.

    This position requires the ability to obtain a government security clearance. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. Security clearance factors include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the US, foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and drug involvement. Employment is contingent on other factors, including, but not limited to, background checks and drug screens.
