Job Title: University Programs: Operations Intern (Junior or Senior)

Job Description:
Raytheon is looking for an Operations Intern. The Operations Summer Intern will participate in complex and exciting manufacturing projects focused on Lean Manufacturing techniques. Additionally, the intern will work independently reviewing business systems and collecting the necessary data to access the opportunities for improvement in their assigned product line. The intern will work on a wide range of weapon systems including tactical missiles to strategic defense products, and have broad-based exposure to various business areas including Finance, Integrated Supply Chain and Manufacturing. Some project examples are: design, control, and improve the manufacturing process through value stream mapping and waste identification, reduce cycle time and/or customer lead time, reduce WIP, reduce labor cost, reduce material cost, and increase system throughput.

For Multi-Level Intern Requisitions:
This position can be a Salary Grade of G04 or G05 based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position.

  • G04 (College Junior by Fall 2018) - must have completed 60 hours of college
  • G05 (College Senior by Fall 2018) - must have completed 90 hours of college

Required Skills:

  • Prior work experience (e.g., co-ops, internships)
  • Experience working on a team
  • Must be a college Junior, Senior or Graduate student by Fall 2018
  • Ability to obtain an Export Authorization from the appropriate government agency for non-U.S. persons
  • U.S Citizenship is required

Desired Skills:

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
  • Manufacturing knowledge
  • Coursework in lean manufacturing or statistical process control
  • Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (Please upload an unofficial transcript when applying)

Required Education (including major):

  • Currently pursuing a BS / BA degree from an accredited four-year university and entering as a college Junior or Senior year. Must be working towards a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent technical discipline. Must be appropriate grade level listed above.
