Job Description: University Programs: Software Engineer I (Bachelor’s Degree Level)

The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and energetic entry level Software Engineer able to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment with the Raytheon IIS team.

The Raytheon Strategic Transportation Systems Software department within the Intelligence, Information and Services (IIS) Software Engineering directorate is seeking qualified software engineers with strong interest in the Joint Precision Approach and Landing System (JPALS) GPS landing systems domain. Responsibilities include software requirements analysis, software design, code development, unit testing, software integration, software qualification, and software anomaly investigation and resolution. Software engineers should be familiar with software development processes, methodologies, and tools.

Required Skills:

  • Experience with C/C++ and/or Java programming
  • Experience with Windows and Linux software development
  • Knowledge of SW development life cycle and processes
  • Knowledge of modified condition/decision coverage unit testing
  • Problem solving skills
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with other software engineers and systems engineers
  • Excellent communication skills, including ability to produce technical documentation
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.

Desired Skills:
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in software engineering domain
  • Working knowledge of agile scrum
  • Experience with JavaScript, HTML 5, and Perl scripting
  • Experience with MATLAB and Simulink
  • Experience with eggPlant, VectorCAST, JUnit, and Jtest and other automation tools
  • Experience with VxWorks and Wind River Workbench and embedded real-time systems
  • Familiar with ClearCase, ClearQuest, Eclipse, and Rhapsody

Required Education:
Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Engineering, Math, or Physics obtained with in the past 18 months or by Spring of 2018.
An overall grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 grade scale is desired.

This position can be G06 or G07 based on the candidate’s qualifications as they relate to the education, experience and responsibility requirements for the position.
