The Hardware Engineering Center (HWEC) is an engineering organization that focuses on product producibility and mission assurance. It is a vital link in the integrated product development process that allows Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems to introduce reliable new products faster, better, and more economically.

The successful candidate will participate in the development of assembly methods, materials, and processes for current and next generation microwave and mmwave products, with a very heavy emphasis on cutting edge automation and materials. Will work hand-in-hand with product engineers, quality engineers, reliability engineers, and manufacturing engineers to produce microwave and mmwave assemblies. Responsibilities include developing and implementing materials and processes, process improvements, and equipment selection using established statistical process control techniques, experimental designs, material analysis, and mechanical design analysis. Evaluation of materials, equipment and processes (including qualification, acceptance testing, and specification development) will be required including interfacing with key internal and external suppliers to resolve technical issues.

For Multi-Level Intern Requisitions:
This position can be a Salary Grade of G04, G05 or NUG based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position.
• G04 (College Junior by Fall 2018) - must have completed 60 hours of college
• G05 (College Senior by Fall 2018) - must have completed 90 hours of college
• NUG (Post- Graduate-Masters-PhD by Fall 2018) - must have an undergraduate degree and currently enrolled or about to enroll in a graduate degree program

Basic Qualifications:
  • 0-1 years’ experience in assembly, processes, materials and development
  • Must be a college Junior, Senior, or Graduate student by Fall 2018

Desired Skills:
  • Knowledge of materials, DOE, statistical data handling and analysis, and problem solving methodologies
  • Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (Please upload an unofficial transcript when applying)

Required Education:
Currently pursuing a BS / BA degree from a four-year university and entering college Junior or Senior year OR pursuing a MS / MA / PhD by Fall 2018. Must be working towards a degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Math, or other related field, or equivalent technical discipline. Must be appropriate grade level listed above.
