Technical Editor/Writer Intern

Raytheon Intelligence Information and Services (IIS) is looking for a highly motivated College Student Intern to support Raytheon's Training and Logistics Services.

Raytheon's Intelligence, Information and Services (IIS), Training and Logistics Services (T&LS) Directorate in San Diego, CA is seeking current college students for an internship. This position is an excellent opportunity for someone with well-developed written and verbal communication skills to begin a career in the aerospace-defense engineering environment supporting state-of-the art technology through development of hardware and software technical documentation for end-user operator installation, assembly, maintenance manuals and training materials.
The individual will work with other technical writers, logistic support personnel and system engineering organizations collecting and documenting system architecture, and developing applicable support technical manual and training documentation in accordance with defined standards and contractual requirements. The individual must be well-organized self-starter, able to work in a team environment, have good communication and technical skills, and professionally interact with other organizations.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
  • Proficient with Windows-based operating systems and Microsoft applications, such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work well both as part of a team or as an individual
  • Ability to manage multiple short-term projects simultaneously
  • This position requires the ability to access systems that contain information restricted to US Citizens based on certain Federal Government contractual requirements.

Required Education:
  • Working towards degree in English, Journalism, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Business related or equivalent engineering degree.
  • A GPA of 3.0 or higher is desired

This position can be Salary Grade SA02, Salary Grade SA03, or Salary Grade SA04 based on the candidate’s qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position.

SA02 (AdminStudent-Sophomore) – must have completed 60 hours of college credits towards degree and obtained Sophomore status as of Summer 2018.
SA03(AdminStudent–Junior) – must have completed 90 hours of college credits towards degree and obtained Junior status as of Summer 2018
SA04 (AdminStudent-Senior) – must have completed 120 hours of college credits towards degree and obtained Senior status as of Summer 2018
