Job Description:
The Hardware Engineering Center (HWEC) is an engineering organization that focuses on production and mission assurance. It is a vital link in the integrated product development process that allows Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems to introduce reliable new products faster, better, and more economically.

A successful candidate for the Electronics Center Internship position will participate in multi-discipline teams supporting primarily military programs through application of EE tools and design processes. Chosen candidate will be a team member working on the design, analysis and support of electronics products. This may include digital, analog, power and mixed signal circuit card assemblies, FPGA/VHDL programming or ASIC support, RF and Microwave analysis, sustaining and production electronics support, components engineering, and product development engineering.

Depending on the individual's area of interest and experience, responsibilities may include:

  • Participating as a team member in detailed circuit design
  • Configurable digital logic development using VHDL
  • Functional analysis
  • Functional verification testing
  • Working with engineering and production personnel to troubleshoot and provide root cause and corrective action to design and process issues

The chosen candidate will learn frequent use and application of technical standards, principles, concepts and techniques. Candidates will be expected to provide recommendations to a variety of technical problems of appropriate scope and complexity, working under general supervision. Successful candidates should expect to be immersed in a fast-paced, team-based, and challenging technical environment where an individual with talent and initiative can stand out and thrive.

For Multi-Level Intern Requisitions:

  • This position can be a Salary Grade of G04, G05, or NUG based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position.
  • G04 (College Junior by Fall 2018) - must have completed 60 hours of college
  • G05 (College Senior by Fall 2018) - must have completed 90 hours of college
  • NUG (Post- Graduate-Masters-PhD by Fall 2018) - must have an undergraduate degree and currently enrolled or about to enroll in a graduate degree program

Required Skills:

  • Must be a college Junior, Senior or Graduate student by Fall 2018
  • Must be available for minimum of ten weeks between May and October
  • Engineering Lab experience
  • Experience with electronic equipment
  • Ability to analyze individual situations and take appropriate action to ensure that Manufacturing Operations needs are met
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and various Standard Manufacturing Applications along with associated data entry skills
  • Problem solving and analytical skills
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.

Desired Skills:

  • Demonstrated leadership experience through school or extracurricular projects is a plus
  • Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (Please upload an unofficial transcript when applying)

Required Education (including major):
Currently pursuing a BS / BA degree from an accredited four-year university and entering as a college Junior or Senior year OR pursuing a MS / MA / PhD by Fall 2018. Must be working towards a degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical discipline. Must be appropriate grade level listed above. University Programs: Electrical Engineering Intern
