Job Description:
Raytheon Company Space and Airborne Systems business unit is seeking a highly motivated, SoC design, Embedded and Application level software intern to work on Electro Optical control and processing electronics product development for defense applications. The position will be located in Goleta, California.

In this position, the candidate will learn the latest technology trends in the area of FPGA and application level design. The candidate will work in the product development and test team environment with system, mechanical, and electrical engineers to learn how to collaborate with multiple disciplines and improve communication and technical skills.
This position can be a Salary Grade of G04 or G05 based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position.
  • G04 (College Junior by Fall 2018) - must have completed 60 hours of college
  • G05 (College Senior by Fall 2018) - must have completed 90 hours of college
  • NUG (Post- Graduate-Masters-PhD by Fall 2018) - must have an undergraduate degree and currently enrolled or about to enroll in a graduate degree program

Required Skills:
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
  • Must be mobile and willing to relocate
  • Junior/Senior pursuing a Bachelors or first year Masters with a degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or Computer Science or related technical field

Desired Skills:
  • Experience with interfaces and bus standards such as USB and Gigabit Ethernet
  • Experience designing with various software and firmware tools such as Eclipse, Visual Studio, Vivado and/or Altera FPGAs
  • Knowledge of SoC design implementation with hardware and software design language
  • Minimum of a 3.0 Cumulative GPA or greater

Required Education: Currently pursuing a BS / BA degree from an accredited four-year university and entering as a college Junior or Senior year OR pursuing a MS / MA / PhD by Fall 2018. Must be working towards a degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science or other related technical field by Fall 2018. Must be appropriate grade level listed above.

This position requires a U.S. person or the ability to obtain an Export Authorization from the appropriate government agency for non-U.S. persons.
