Job Description

Seeking New Grad Staff Scientist with applied research interests to join our Sensor Systems group

U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.

Raytheon BBN Technologies, located in Middletown, RI, is seeking a New Grad Staff Scientist with applied research interests to join our Sensor Systems group. Our world-class team works with a broad range of Government agencies to solve problems that are both technically challenging and have a real operational impact. The ideal candidate will have good hardware and software skills, experience developing and implementing physics-based models in Matlab/Simulink, hands-on experience with experimental equipment to collect and analyze data sets, and willingness to support limited off-site testing.

Our work makes a real impact to operational systems. You will solve challenging problems including:
  • Developing sophisticated detection and classification algorithms against state-of-the-art threats;
  • Designing and implementing complex software and hardware to optimize sensor system life;
  • Supporting real time evaluation of your designs in realistic mission scenarios; and
  • Developing prototype proof-of-concept system to address our client’s most challenging problems.

Minimum Education and Experience:
  • MS in Engineering, Physics, or equivalent discipline required.
  • Minimum 0 years of experience required.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
Additional Experience/Skills:
  • Experience developing/prototyping digital signal processing algorithms
  • Proficient using MATLAB and C/C++
  • Hands-on experience developing real-time software for embedded systems including responsibilities for design, implementation, debug, and test
  • Experience implementing and optimizing signal processing or data capture algorithms in embedded systems
