Technical Director Job Description:

The Tactical Radar Capabilities Development Department in SEIT Center currently has a need for a Technical Director to lead the Multi-Hypothesis Tracking (MHT) group. This department provides a wide range of system engineering work products in support of Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems.

The activities of this Technical Director role include

  • Provide MHT engineering services at SAS Engineering level, responsible for all of SAS programs on MHT domain area to multi-mission businesses, including SSS, ISRS, EW, Space, EO/IR, Multi-function Advanced EO/IR, and ACT
  • Develop and deliver work products that require engineering support and expertise on MHT, to ensure systems engineering discipline, and successful program execution within cost, schedule and technical milestones
  • Lead MHT group to capture new pursuits and to expand RTN business footprints as the preferred MHT technical expertise in the industry
  • Lead MHT group to grow engineering talent as the Center of Excellence for MHT expertise, and to establish a robust technical pipeline and succession plan. Develop engineering talent required to support the projected business growth in this domain area
  • Active collaboration with multiple functions (software, hardware, systems) and the program office
  • Technical presentations with internal and external customers
The Technical Director is responsible to lead engineering groups to design, develop, implement, and verify specific tracking capabilities in the area of MHT are inserted to the relevant program platform to meet customer mission objectives. The Technical Director roles and responsibilities include program execution, pursuits/proposal capture, engineering talent development, external customer interface/engagement, customer relationship building, and technical leadership / oversight of all engineering issues relate to MHT domain area in all of SAS programs. The Technical Director is also expected to grow the skill set of people in this domain area, and to ensure we have a strong technical pipeline established. The Technical Director will work with functional leaders from Systems Engineering, H/W Center, S/W Center, Whole Life Engineering Center, program office, and business leaders to develop business capture strategies, technology roadmaps, and program execution plans. The Technical Director is also responsible to ensure requirements verification, SIL integration, and product capabilities sell off while meeting the technical/cost/schedule commitment to the Customers.

Required Skills:
  • 12+ years of experience in systems engineering development
  • In depth experience with MHT and tracking, familiar with SAS engineering work products, technologies, and programs
  • Advocate for process improvement (e.g. CMMI and R6S); team player and able to build strong relationships and effectively partner with internal resources; customer focused
  • Must be an R6s Specialist
  • Must have an existing DoD Secret clearance
