Job Description

This position is an excellent career-building opportunity for a self-motivated, flexible and energetic team player.It offers the opportunity to help develop optimum solutions for business challenges and to develop a broad network of contacts within Missile Systems, Corporate Office and across other Raytheon business units.The CO Team is a small team that oversees all Missile Systems’ cost accounting. The selected team member will develop a well-rounded understanding of the Missile Systems cost accounting structure and cost reporting that will provide the foundation for continued broadening of financial experience at Raytheon.

This position is the primary point of contact for processing Cost Transfers and Travel and Expense corrections for the RMS ledgers in SAP. This involves working closely with all organizations within the RMS Finance department to ensure transfers are submitted in accordance with established policies and procedures, RMS disclosed practices, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

This position is also responsible for performing monthly general ledger account reconciliations, posting journal entries to clear suspense items, performing detailed account reviews, and other miscellaneous accounting tasks.

This position requires the ability to communicate processes and standards to the greater Finance Organization in order to ensure compliance.

The ideal candidate must be able to operate in a challenging, fast-paced, team environment. They must also demonstrate an ability to take ownership of their process area and to continually focus on improving processes and efficiency. This position requires the building of positive relationships with our internal customers throughout Raytheon.

Minimum Required Skills:
  • Self starter with excellent organizational skills and the ability to work with other Finance/Business team members
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Powerpoint, Word)
  • Ability to work independently
Highly Desired Skills:
  • Understanding of Missile Systems cost structure
  • Working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and the Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)
  • Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)

Required Education (including Major):

Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or Business from an accredited institution with a minimum cumulative/overall GPA of 3.2
