The Whole Life Systems Engineering (WLSE) Systems Configuration Management Department is looking for an individual to participate on a fast paced Engineering Team and work closely with the Office of the Chief Engineer to provide guidance, support, and solutions to routine configuration management issues when they arise.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication, teaming and computer skills, excels at attention to detail, and a solid competency in project planning.

Job Description:

The Whole Life Systems Engineering (WLSE) is responsible for ensuring our products are Safe, Reliable, Maintainable and are under configuration control. WLSE consists of multiple disciplines that support engineering, our program offices and our customers. Our WLSE disciplines participate in the total life cycle of our products from conception to deactivation. We are focused in two main areas, Product Support and Technical Data support. In the product support area the disciplines are reliability, system safety and supportability; on the technical data side the main disciplines are configuration management and data management. WLSE also provides program office and engineering support in the areas of earned value, engineering check and product verification. WLSE also includes the operational aspects of mission support such as field and technical support, repairs and spares management and Program Management support. The WLSE System Configuration Management Department at Raytheon Missile Systems (RMS) is seeking an individual to fill a Configuration Analyst I position in Huntsville, Alabama. The Configuration Analyst will work with the program Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), the Office of the Chief Engineer, and all other applicable stakeholders in the processing, review, and approval of the engineering technical documentation. As part of this activity, the Configuration Analyst will work closely with Configuration Management supervision to learn to utilize a systems thinking approach in performing an analysis on the documentation to ensure Raytheon and configuration management policies and standards are met.

U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the coordination and administration of assigned configuration management activities relative to identification, control, verification and accounting for systems and equipment in accordance with contractual requirements.

  • Coordinates the introduction of technical engineering data and changes into the RMS configuration management process for an assigned program.

  • Performing analysis on technical engineering data items to ensure a robust, producible, and fully supportable product.

  • Reviews released engineering data and coordinates changes with engineering, quality, support functions, and manufacturing.

  • Assists in the implementation of customer requirements and review of change accounting activity to ensure compliance with configuration management policies.

Required Skills:

  • Experience working with a team to achieve a common goal

  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project)

  • Experience with sending professional emails

  • U.S. Citizenship is required

Desired Skills:

  • Self-starter with above average communication skills

  • Project management skills

  • Working knowledge of government contracts, specifications and regulations

  • MS Project experience

  • Willingness to take direction from management

  • Ability to multi-task and set priorities

Required Education (including Major):

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Management, Business Administration or related degree from an accredited institution with a minimum of 3.0 GPA preferred. Must have graduated within the last 18 months.

The Job Title for a Bachelor's degree is Configuration Analyst I. The Job Title for a Master's degree is Configuration Analyst II.

This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. Security clearance factors include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the US, foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and drug involvement.
