This position requires a U.S. person or the ability to obtain an Export Authorization from the appropriate government agency for non-U.S. persons.

Raytheon seeks a Mechanical Engineer to provide quality products for the nation’s defense, in a cooperative and collaborative work environment.

The qualified candidate will provide mechanical engineering support for the EO Mechanical Design Department where the primary focus will be the design support of electro-mechanical/electro-optical systems. They will be responsible for supporting routine technical problems on new product designs as well as improvements to existing products. The candidate will utilize their mechanical engineering knowledge during the support of the basic design, development, and integration of work products to develop solutions to routine technical issues. The candidate will provide mechanical support to the project team, working closely with systems, electrical, optical, and mechanical analysis engineers to provide limited scope solutions to the customer.

Required Skills:

  • Entry level professional experience in mechanical design and/or production support
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of generating engineering drawings and change notices
  • U.S. Citizenship is required
  • Ability to access US only data systems

Desired Skills:

  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in the support of design and integration of mechanical products and assemblies, internship(s) preferred
  • Support of Electro-mechanical/electro-optical design
  • Knowledge in the use of 3D CAD solid modeling tools, Creo Parametric preferred
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; both verbally and written
  • Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (Please upload an unofficial transcript when applying)

Required Education:

  • Must have a BS / BA from an accredited university with a major in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering degree by Summer 2018 or have graduated within 18 months prior to start date.
