Job Description:
Develops, modifies, applies, and maintains quality standards for processing materials into partially finished or finished material or product. Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment. Designs or specifies inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of, and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications. May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control, and/or research and development as they apply to quality control.

Tests and controls raw material and finished product quality, ensuring compliance with company standards and applicable government regulations. Advises operating units on installation and maintenance of inspection and testing procedures for raw materials, packaging materials, and finished products. Recommends corrective action where necessary, develops plant quality control manuals, and participates in the development of new methods, procedures, and systems.

  • Ability to technically interface with various engineering disciplines
  • Ability to hold constructive meetings, document Actions and follow-up on Action Assignment/Completions
  • Possess effective interpersonal skills and ability to work well with team members, customers, suppliers and in a team environment
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and apply decision–making skills with appropriate supervisory intervention
  • Ability to obtain and analyze Quality metrics that may be used to drive true root cause and long-term corrective action
  • Ability to participate in problem solving and improvement activities to include root cause analysis and the initiation and implementation of effective short-term and long-term corrective actions
  • Proficient in the use of the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel and Power Point)

Desired Skills:

  • Experience or familiarity with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 Quality Management Systems
  • Experience or familiarity with the use of analysis tools such as Pareto Analysis, cause/effect diagrams and process mapping
  • Experience or familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) or related statistical techniques
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA required (please upload a copy of the transcripts when applying).

Required Education: Currently pursuing a BS/BA from an accredited four-year university with a major in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Math or other related field. Must be appropriate grade level listed above.
