The Operations Analysis and Simulation (OAS) Department is chartered with performing operations analysis and developing analysis models and simulations in support of programs and new business captures across the Raytheon's Integrated Defense Systems' business portfolio, including surface and undersea Navy, integrated air and missile defense, command and control, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance. The Systems Engineer will plan, execute, and communicate operations analyses that broadly consider the many aspects of military operations (e.g. conceptual and operational planning, doctrine, combat operations, and force sustainment), employing techniques such as mathematical modeling, statistical analysis, and multi-objective optimization. These analyses will support the Business Development organization in the capture of new business opportunities and development of strategic customer relationships. Responsibilities of operations analysis products include:

  • Mathematical models and simulations representing system and/or system of systems behavior
  • Formulation of measures of effectiveness, military utility, and cost and operational effectiveness trade studies
  • Concept of Operations (CONOPS) development, assessment and Analyses of Alternatives (AoA), including graphical demonstration
  • Decision analysis for military operations and defense acquisition
Required Skills

  • Candidates must have obtained an undergraduate or graduate degree by Summer of 2018 or completed a degree no more than 18 months prior to start date, with an emphasis in Engineering, Science, Physics, Math or other relevant technical discipline including course work (academic, industry, or military) in operations research, management science, and/or military operations analysis.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.2
  • Computer programming experience with languages including Python, Matlab, or Java
  • Obtain DOD Security Clearance within 1 year of start date and U.S. Citizenship is required
Desired Skills

  • Master’s or Doctorate Degree in Engineering, Science, Physics, Math or other relevant technical discipline
  • Engineering domain experience in EO/IR/RF sensor, kinetic weapon, and/or electronic warfare systems
  • Knowledge of military mission areas, such as Integrated Air and Missile Defense, Naval Surface and Undersea Warfare, Air Superiority, Space Control, and Cyber Warfare
  • Track record of innovation in the field of operations research (published papers and/or patents)
  • Existing Secret or TS/SCI security clearance
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem solving expertise
  • Strong team-member and collaborator
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
