Job Description

Raytheon Intelligence, Information and Services (IIS) in Fullerton, CA, is seeking an Systems Engineer Analyst to join the Joint Precision Approach and Landing System (JPALS) Program as a member of the Guidance Quality (GQ) Team. The successful candidate will assist the GQ Chief Engineer and sub team leads in implementing and testing algorithm enhancements necessary to meet the accuracy, continuity and integrity requirements of the block 1 phase of the JPALS program. The candidate will also assist the GQ team in documenting the algorithm designs and test results into program deliverables in preparation for critical design review (CDR). The candidate may also work on algorithm anomaly resolution, algorithm test procedure development, and algorithm integration and test conduct.

The successful candidate must be a proactive self-starter who can work independently on individual tasks under the guidance of senior engineers, or with a team. It is possible the candidate will work on multiple tasks in any given month. The individual will serve as part of a team of systems engineering analysts.
Required Skills:
  • Strong mathematics and analysis background
  • Strong Mathworks Matlab and Simulink skills
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Experience in designing, implementing and/or testing computationally intensive algorithms
  • Strong personal communications skills, both in presentation and technical writing, as well as, strong multitasking skills.
  • Literate in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with the following systems engineering work products:
    • Systems Design and Architecture
    • Requirements Allocation and Development
    • Modeling, Simulation, and Trade Studies
    • Systems Verification and Validation
    • Configuration management tools and regression testing
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.
Desired Skills:
  • Familiar with GPS algorithms including differential GPS and Satellite-based Augmentation Systems
  • Other Programming (C/C++) or scripting experience in addition to Mathwork
  • Familiarity with Model-Based Design
  • Demonstrated experience in systems architecture and design, IV&V planning, procedures and strategies
  • Demonstrated problem solving, organization, coordination, and planning skills
  • Automated requirements management tools (DOORS) experience

Required Education:

Master’s Degree in Engineering discipline, Science, Applied Mathematics, or Physics obtained within the past 18 months or by Summer of 2018.
