This opportunity is for the role of Quality Engineer (QE) in Hardware Quality Engineering to support one or more programs in IDS. Hardware Quality Engineering ensures program execution in accordance with Integrated Defense Systems’ (IDS) Quality Management System (QMS) which is based on AS9100/ISO 9001. In addition Quality Engineering supports Raytheon’s Quality Policy with an emphasis on Quality Excellence, Customer Satisfaction and Continual Improvement.
Hardware Quality Engineering provides expertise, guidance and management of issues encountered during, design, development, build, integration and product realization. This includes ensuring: the proper execution of root cause analysis and corrective and preventive action; continuous improvement; compliance with IDS policies and procedures; deployment and alignment of the quality engineering processes.

Hardware Quality Engineering scope includes participation in Peer Reviews and formal inspections of work products as defined in Program Planning Documentation. Quality is a required member of the release and Change Control Boards (CCB). Typical examples of the documentation and program activities that Quality Engineering supports include: review of plans and procedures, design reviews, test plans and reports, software inspections, test and sale readiness reviews, customer interface, gate reviews.

This position will be for a June 2018 start.

U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security clearance within 1 year of start date.

Required Skills:
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications including MS Word, Excel and/or Power Point.
  • Minimum GPA requirement of 3.0
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required
  • B.S. / B.A. degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

    Desired Skills:

  • Experience in Quality Sciences and/or Engineering
  • Experience with analytical skills in root-cause analysis and/or corrective/preventive actions
  • Experience in continuous improvement processes such as Six Sigma and/or Lean Methodologies
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to build effective relationships through partnering and collaboration
