Job Description

**This is a 4-6-month co-op opportunity for spring 2018 semester.**

Don’t just start a co-op, start a career. Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems is seeking a full time co-op student employee to serve as a Subcontract Program Manager for the Seapower Capability Systems business area. As a Subcontract Program Manager, you will lead critical Supplier Integrated Product Teams through multiple program phases including development, production and sustainment. In this highly visible role, you will have accountability and authority for leading and managing subcontractors for one or multiple subcontracts and/or programs.

The role is located at Raytheon’s Portsmouth, RI office and the successful candidate will be required to have reliable transportation to this facility every day. Minimal travel to other Raytheon facilities or to supplier facilities may be required. The Subcontract Program Manager will also have the opportunity to achieve a Raytheon Six Sigma certification. Job shadowing, mentoring, leadership learning sessions and flexible work arrangements are also available. At the end of the rotation, the co-op will have a solid understanding of supply chain strategy and execution best practices, supplier management, negotiation, cross functional team leadership and the aerospace and defense industry.

Key Responsibilities may include:

  • Developing a strategy and managing overall performance of Subcontractor(s) to support the achievement of contract technical, schedule, quality and financial performance objectives
  • Managing the relationship and communications between subcontract partner staff and Raytheon counterparts. Coordinating activities among Raytheon Material Program Managers, Integrated Product Team/Cross Product Team/Program Leads and Engineering
  • Ensuring quick resolution of technical and programmatic issues by leveraging and integrating the capabilities of the entire organization
  • Supporting planning, execution and reporting of material and labor budgets; sales; and risk and opportunity identification and management plans
  • Developing and presenting subcontractor strategy recommendations and status reviews to various internal and external leaders and stakeholders
  • Completing a Raytheon Six Sigma project to become a Raytheon Six Sigma specialist

Required Skills:

Candidate must be in/entering their sophomore, junior or senior year and actively pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain or related field with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Please upload a copy of your most recent transcript when applying to this requisition.
