Job Description

SVTAD Systems Engineering New College Hire
Are you a recent graduate who enjoys putting complex engineering systems together, testing and attempting to break them? Would you like to understand how systems fail and then participate in developing fixes or redesigns, retesting and ultimately fielding a system which will perform each and every time?
Do you have a BS or MS degree in an engineering curriculum? Are you interested in becoming a Systems Engineer working in integration, test and validation activities? Then you might be ready to begin your professional career as an engineer with Raytheon’s Integrated Defense Systems (IDS) Systems Validation, Test and Analysis Directorate (SVTAD).
The Systems Validation, Test, and Analysis Directorate (SVTAD) is the central focus for all integration, verification, validation and test activities within Integrated Defense Systems (IDS). The more than 700 employees of SVTAD provide their expertise to ensure customer success through the design, development and execution of innovative and comprehensive test, verification and validation strategies, processes, tools and techniques. SVTAD employees are involved in all aspects of test including: design-for-test, integration, subsystem, and component level testing through Customer sell-off of IDS' most sophisticated systems and technologies. Our System Engineers work with the other IDS Engineering disciplines from development of initial system concepts to product sell-off. We integrate hardware and software, develop test plans and procedures, debug and test system functions and interfaces, and verify system requirements in support of final selloff to the customer.
Opportunities for SVTAD engineers require individuals to use engineering, math, and teamwork skills to perform various engineering activities, such as systems integration and test to verify system capabilities and performance, debugging system problems, root cause analysis and the development of corrective actions; and analysis of expected system performance using tools such as Matlab, DOORS, Rhapsody, ClearCase, and various proprietary tools. Assignment location is St. Petersburg, FL and will work in the Missions Systems business area within SVTAD.
