BBN is seeking creative, passionate engineers who enjoy solving challenging problems with national level impact for our Cyber Security Business Unit based in Cambridge, MA.

We are seeking qualified Associate Systems or Software Engineers who will collaborate on funded research, development, and deployment of cyber security technologies and provide assured network solutions to complex operations.

You will contribute to one or more projects sponsored by the Department of Defense and the Federal Government and will work on a team with 3-5 other technical staff to design, develop, and prototype in domains such as: Security Architecture, System Security Analysis, Network Protocols, Modeling and Simulation, Cyber Testing, Malware, Security Policy, and Communications Security.

Successful candidates will be goal oriented and have a desire to develop the skills necessary over the next few years to acquire new business opportunities for the business team by writing or contributing to proposals and white papers and making presentations to prospective customers.

Required Education and Experience:
• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineer, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field.
• Coursework in areas of computer and network security, computer architectures, computer languages, and demonstrated skills in technical writing and publications highly desirable.
• Strong programming skills, particularly in C/C++ or Java but also x86 (or other) assembly language, Python or Perl
• 0-2 years of work experience

Interest or experience with any of the following areas is a plus:
• Advanced concepts, practices, and procedures within software systems such as operating system internals, kernel development, and web services
• TCP/IP networking and other basic network concepts
• Security topics like fuzzing, memory analysis, malware techniques, cryptography, etc.
• Reverse engineering and binary analysis using Ida, Ollydbg, WinDbg, ICE
• Mobile platforms or mobile application development (iOS, Android, etc.)
• Low-level knowledge of embedded device processors (e.g., ARM-based SoCs)
• Industrial control systems (SCADA) and vehicle controller buses
