Job Description

Raytheon’s Rotational Engineering Leadership Development Program (RELDP) fosters world-class leaders capable of leading Raytheon's engineering functions across the company. Program participants rotate through Raytheon, gaining exposure to cutting-edge principles, products and trends, working with current leaders, and developing the skills and competencies needed to help shape the company's future.

During this two year program, participants will have diverse assignments lasting 12 months each, and located in different geographical locations. The first rotation will take place at Raytheon Missile Systems (RMS) in Tucson, Arizona. Participants are engaged in a wide range of learning experiences including mentoring, live and self-paced learning, skills assessments, community service, career planning, networking, and exposure to Raytheon-wide facilities and practices. Individual development plans are linked to Raytheon’s leadership competencies with the goal of developing Raytheon’s engineering leaders of tomorrow.

Job Description:
The 12-month Tucson rotation will offer the opportunity to directly shape RMS’ Quality and Mission Assurance global growth strategy, or to gain hands-on experience as a Quality Engineer supporting a factory or a program.

As part of the global growth strategy team in the Quality Excellence Center, you will be responsible for multi-disciplinary collaboration while you develop, maintain, and provide updates on Q&MA’s international strategy. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, creating and identifying opportunities for global growth, engaging cross functional subject matter experts and integrating and coordinating business development strategies and initiatives across the enterprise.

As part of the factory or program team as a Quality Engineer, you will be exposed to RMS’ quality management system and work within integrated teams to analyze, control and improve product quality in the RMS factories and production programs. Responsibilities in this role may include prioritizing customer needs, translating company objectives into quality performance standards and metrics, performing analysis of nonconformities to characterize causes, and implementing appropriate corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment.

-Demonstrated leadership skills
-Experience working or leading cross-functional teams
-Strong critical thinking capability
-Must excel at interpersonal communications, and be a solid communicator, using both verbal and written communications
-Demonstrated statistical knowledge
-Experience working with and reading drawings and specifications
-Experience performing root cause analysis

Desired Skills:
-An understanding of international geo-political environments

Required Education (Including Major):
-Graduating with a Master’s Degree or PhD in engineering or hard science in the current academic year
-3.5 GPA or higher in graduate studies; a 3.2 GPA or higher in undergraduate studies

Clearance:
This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. Security clearance factors include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the US, foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and drug involvement. Employment is contingent on other factors, including, but not limited to, background checks and drug screens.
