This position requires a U.S. person or the ability to obtain an Export Authorization from the appropriate government agency for non-U.S. persons.

This position is for an electrical engineer to work in the Hardware Engineering Center of Raytheon's Space and Airborne Systems (SAS) business unit. The Hardware Engineering Center (HWEC) is an engineering organization that focuses on product producibility and mission assurance. It is a vital link in the integrated product development process that allows Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems to introduce reliable new products faster, better, and more economically.

The person hired for these positions will work in the Transmitter, Receiver, EXciter (TREX) department. Working on TREX and Radar hardware requirements. This entails working in multi-disciplined, multi-functional integrated product teams to either design, develop, manufacture and/or sustain complex state-of-the-art systems for airborne, naval, and/or land-based military applications. Activities may include one or more of the the following: detailed RF/Analog/Digital design, component obsolescence trades and resolution updates, production support, supplier collaboration to resolve hardware non-conformances and/or product sustainment. Specific tasks include circuit analysis, circuit simulation, design documentation maintenance, trade assessments for obsolescence resolution, troubleshooting and resolution of hardware performance issues and hardware integration, test and verification. Integration and test of RF/Analog/Digital components and modules at the TREX and Radar levels may also be required.

Required Skills:

  • Electrical engineering experience with an emphasis in RF, Analog and/or digital component and modules and/or design.
  • Familiarity with industry standard CAE (computer-aided engineering) tools for electrical engineering as well as EE lab and measurement equipment including but not limited to Network Analyzers, Power Meters, Spectrum Analyzers, and Generators.
  • Experience with industry standard CAE (computer-aided engineering) tools for electrical engineering as well as EE lab equipment
  • Experience with schematic capture, HDL code development, synthesis, simulation, and test
  • Familiarity with the complete design process from requirements to development, test, and integration

Desired Skills:

  • Familiarity with RF design tools such as ADS, Genesys, Matlab, Labview, PSPICE and Mentor Expedition design Tool.
  • Experience with VHDL design
  • Familiarity with Xilinx and TMS320C development tools
  • Experience with JTAG boundary-scan testing.
  • Experience with U.S. DoD Mil-Std-1553 and PCI bus architecture.
  • Experience using Mentor Graphics Design Architect
  • Software skills with C, C++ Visual Basic, and/or assembly languages.
  • Knowledge of CMMI
  • Experience in cost account management and cost estimation, and engineering planning (IMP/IMS)
  • Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (Please upload an unofficial transcript when applying)

Required Education:
Must have a MS / MA from an accredited university with a major in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or other related field by Summer 2018 or have graduated 18 months prior to start date.
