Description: Engineering Intern
Grade: Intern

Job Description:

An opportunity currently exists in the Microelectronics Engineering & Technology (MET) Department, a part of Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems (IDS), as a Fall Intern. MET develops, designs, and manufactures compound semiconductor devices, millimeter/microwave integrated circuits, and modules for defense and commercial applications.

As an intern in the MET Department, the individual in this role will support the integration and development of a manufacturing execution system in RF Components production wafer fabrication unit. In order to succeed at this role, the candidate should have a versatile background in electrical or computer engineering or IT. A broad understanding of other aspects of semiconductor processing is a plus.

This individual will work closely with a team of engineers in a role that requires a large degree of multitasking and attention to detail.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience with computer and/or electrical engineering
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing execution systems
  • Currently enrolled in a program to obtain a BS or MS in materials science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or physics
  • U.S. Citizenship is required
Desired Qualifications:
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Knowledge of MS Office or other presentation tools
  • Previous internship or co-op with a defense contractor and/or government agency
