Job Description:
This position is for an electrical engineer to work in the Hardware Center of Raytheon's Space and Airborne Systems (SAS) business unit. The person hired for this position will work on new product development based on descriptions and specifications provided by our customers. This entails working in integrated product teams to design, develop, and manufacture complex state-of-the-art systems for airborne, naval, and land-based military applications. Activities include detailed analog and digital design with power, RF, embedded systems, and FPGA components. Specific tasks include circuit analysis, circuit simulation, design documentation, construction of breadboards, design verification and testing, and integration of hardware and software at the level of electronic components and circuit boards.

Required Skills:

  • Electrical engineering experience with an emphasis on analog and digital design.
  • Experience with industry standard CAE (computer-aided engineering) tools for electrical engineering as well as EE lab equipment
  • Experience with schematic capture, HDL code development, synthesis, simulation, and test
  • Experience with FPGA development diagnostic tools.
  • Experience with Spice or Spice-derivative analysis tools
  • Experience with MATLAB analysis tools
  • Familiarity with the design processes, which may include setting requirements to development, test, and integration
  • Laboratory experience with Oscilloscopes and Spectrum Analyzers
  • Must be able to obtain an interim Secret security clearance prior to starting with the ability to obtain a security clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship

Desired Skills:

  • Familiarity with FPGA design using VHDL, Verilog, or System Verilog
  • Familiarity with Xilinx and/or Altera development tools
  • Familiarity with Mentor Graphics Questa or ModelSim for FPGA simulation
  • Familiarity with Mentor Graphics DxDesigner or other ECAD tools for schematic capture
  • Software skills with C, C++ Visual Basic, and/or assembly languages.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Minimum 3.2 cumulative GPA (Please upload an unofficial transcript when applying)

Required Education (including major):

  • Must have a BS / BA with a major in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Math, or other related field by Summer 2018 or have graduated within 18 months prior to start date.

U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.
