Job Description

Raytheon Intelligence, Information and Services (IIS) is currently seeking a Systems Engineer to help support our V-22 Software Sustainment Activity. The Systems Engineer will participate in V-22 Systems Engineering development efforts in various functional areas, as required. This position involves working in a team environment. Duties include, but are not limited to, collaborating with V-22 Functional Area Systems Engineering Leads, Software Engineers and Test Engineering to help analyze fleet issues, assist with Functional Test development and execution, and assist with Engineering Investigations

Clearance Requirements: Secret Level Security Clearance or U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.

Location: IIS, Indianapolis, Indiana.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Perform various systems engineering activities for sustainment of the V-22 Osprey’s operational flight program (OFP) software.
  • Work with external industry and Govt. stakeholders in the areas of where required to identify and execute strategies to improve the aircraft’s overall operation.
  • Analyzing V-22 Fleet issues in a laboratory environment.
  • Perform various model-based analysis activities, including support of software lab test and flight test analysis.
  • Familiar with fixed-wing and rotorcraft aerodynamics, propulsion and vehicle performance concepts.
  • Familiarity with Flight Performance Models/Modelling
  • Creation of V-22 Problem Reports, and assistance with detailed analysis for aircraft problem solution alternatives.
  • Develop and brief presentations related to the various software activities for the customer and external industry stakeholders.

Desired skills:
  • Systems engineering experience or knowledge developing CONOPS, requirements analysis, functional analysis and performing test execution activities.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience or training in performing statistical analysis.
  • Discrete-event and continuous modeling and simulation experience a plus.
  • Ability to work as a self-motivated individual and within a collaborative team environment.
  • Experience or training in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
  • Expertise or training in requirements management using DOORS desired.
  • Knowledge of agile software development desired.
  • Pilot background or experience would be very beneficial.

Required Education:
Bachelors or Masters of Science Degree in Engineering with an Aeronautical Engineering degree obtained within the past 18 months or by December of 2017.
