Job Description

RMS Affordability Intern

The RMS Affordability intern will report directly to the Affordability & Program Innovation Directorate within Program Management Excellence and will participate in development and integration of affordability initiatives within Raytheon Missile Systems.The individual in this role will work across a number of RMS cost reduction opportunities and work directly with the Affordability Office to identify and prioritize projects.The Affordability Intern will also partner with affordability project teams to identify and understand systemic affordability issues.


Key Responsibilities:


·Participate in highly matrixed (many business functions) team working assignments in support of the affordability initiatives and projects.


·Participate in affordability wave planning and developing strategies for a new wave of projects.


·Partner with project leaders to charter and analyze cost reduction opportunity proposals.


·Participate in estimating the impact of affordability improvements to delivery schedule or quality.


·Review and estimate the enterprise-wide systemic issues driving our affordability.


·Seek improvement ideas on reducing rework and improving On-Time delivery.


Required Skills/Experiences:


·Comfortable working in teams in highly matrixed environments


·Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word proficiency


·Ability to quickly assimilate information and develop strategies and action plans to improve a situation


·Finance, business, economics, or supply chain major


·Curiosity about large organization function and broad reaching change initiatives


·Ability to understand and analyze financial, quality and other performance metrics


Desired Skills/Experiences:



Education:


Must be currently enrolled in an accredited institution pursuing a degree in one of the following disciplines: Finance, Supply Chain, Logistics, Economics, Business, or related field.



GPA requirement – 3.0 cumulative/overall or higher (on a 4.0 scale or the equivalent on other scales
