Job Description

  • Are you a student currently pursuing a degree in manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, operations management, supply chain/logistics engineering, or quality reliability engineering? Do you have an interest in Hardware Quality Engineering? If so, Raytheon’s Integrated Defense Systems (IDS) Operations organization could be the perfect place for your next co-op rotation!

    There are opportunities for 2018 Spring Co-op 6 month position that will be January - June.


Opportunity to become a Hardware Quality Engineer with strong technical and communication skills to take responsibility for Operations Quality in a busy manufacturing environment.
Here at Raytheon, our Operations QualityTeam ensures product and process quality with an emphasis on Product Compliance, Customer Satisfaction and Continuous Improvement.
As a Hardware Quality Engineer embedded within the Production Value Stream you’ll be a high-value participant on cross-functional teams, utilizing Quality Science skills and expertise to drive issue resolution and will also frequently interface with internal and external customers.
In this role, your responsibilities will include:
·Process planning, inspection and test methodology as well as Non-Conforming Material Control, issue resolution and product acceptance.
·Defect prevention through data analysis and effective execution of Root Cause and associated Corrective Action Implementation.
·In addition, you’ll provide production floor support to address process and compliance issues from all levels.
Candidate must have experience in:
  • Experience in facilitating cross-functional teams for improvement activities (e.g. 6-sigma, lean manufacturing)
  • Experience in the use of pareto analysis, cause/effect diagrams, process mapping, and/or other performance analysis tools
· Ability to exercise sound judgment and apply decision–making skills with appropriate supervisory intervention
· Must have the ability to develop solutions to technical problems


This is a 1st Shift position and will require obtaining a secret clearance.

Required Skills:
· *U.S Citizenship is required*

Candidates must be currently enrolled in an with an emphasis in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain/Logistics Engineering, or Quality/Reliability Engineering

Desired Skills:
  • Experience in a Manufacturing Process/Production Floor Support role within one of the following disciplines Quality, Process, Engineering or Operations

· Previous experience in electro/mechanical manufacturing or printed circuit board assemblies (surface mount technology and thru-hole technology)
· Demonstrated ability to comprehend and translate external and internal requirements into effective work instructions
· General Statistical Process Control knowledge
· Demonstrated ability to pro-actively identify and self-start projects under limited oversight
· Ability to build effectiverelationships through partnering and collaboration
· Effective verbal and written communication and networking skills to work with all levels of the company
· International Experience and/or bilingual
· Proficiency in the Microsoft suite of products (i.e. Word, Excel, Power Point)
· Knowledge in development/usage of Quality metrics that may be used to drive true root cause and long-term corrective action.
  • GPA of 3.0 or better strongly desired
  • Previous co-op experience
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a team
  • Good computer skills
  • Strong communication and influencing skills
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and challenging environment
U.S Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.
