University Programs: Graphic Artist/Technical Writer Internship
Location: Indialantic, FL

Position Description: Raytheon CSI in Indialantic, FL is seeking current college students for summer internships. This position is an excellent opportunity for someone with well-developed written and verbal communication skills to begin a career in the aerospace-defense engineering environment supporting state-of-the art technology through development of illustrations technical diagrams, and graphics for proposals, whitepapers, user and installation guides, design and requirements documents, technical reports, and slicksheets.

The individual will work with other technical writers, graphics artists and software engineering organizations collecting and documenting technical approaches, and developing applicable support technical manual and training documentation in accordance with defined standards and contractual requirements. The individual must be well-organized self-starter, able to work in a team environment, have good communication and technical skills, and professionally interact with other organizations.

Duties:
  • Creates illustrations, technical diagrams, and graphics for proposals, whitepapers, user and installation guides, design and requirements documents, technical reports, and slicksheets
  • Writes, reviews, and edits proposals, whitepapers, user and installation guides, design and requirements documents, technical reports, slicksheets, and résumés

Required Skills:
  • Adept with Adobe Creative Suite applications (i.e., Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat, etc.)
  • Adept with MS Office Suite (i.e., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
  • Ability to work independently and with a team in responding to multiple and conflicting requests under tight deadlines in a dynamic working environment
  • Ability to interact with a team for planning, scheduling, and balancing of work
  • Ability to focus on the big picture as well as the details
  • Enrolled in a bachelor degree program with a major in graphics design, technical writing, or related field
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • This position requires the ability to access systems that contain information restricted to US Citizens based on certain Federal Government contractual requirements.
Required Education:
Working towards degree in English, Journalism, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or equivalent engineering degree. A GPA of 3.0 or higher is desired
